Building pressure, Ukraine protesters enlarge territory, strike at other cities
KIEV, Ukraine — Cranking up the pressure on the government, opposition protesters unhappy with the outcome of negotiations moved on several fronts early Friday to expand their holdings.
Here in the capital, they built new barricades and pushed out farther along side streets feeding the Maidan, or Independence Square. One group seized the Agrarian Policy Ministry building, on Khreshchatyk Street, the Interfax news agency reported.
